A woman from Illinois, Chicago was awarded a place within the Guinness Book of World Records for the fastest weight loss. Jane Lauren lost 180 pounds in just 30 days. The stay at home mother of six admitted that her loss of weight in such a little amount of time has changed her life quite drastically. She attributes this weight loss to a microwave diet.
“Before I always had to wait in line at the grocery store. Now, men let me go through the line all the time. There is even one man who offered to pay my 300$ grocery bill once, even though I’d never seen him before, he just wouldn’t let me pay” laughs the 34-year-old woman. At first, Jane was quite concerned with using a microwave into her daily diet. However, just after a few days, she felt the change and thought that things could not get better. “I was of those loony people who think microwaves emit toxic radiation that gives you cancer” she admits. “I don’t know if that holds up scientifically but for the benefits it has given me, I’ll never stop eating from the microwave.”

The US Food and Drug Association (FDA) has announced that a microwave diet is very safe and does not reduce the nutritional value of the food that is cooked in a microwave. Since the microwaves can cook food quickly without the addition of water, some experts even claim that microwaves can keep more vitamins and minerals in the food than open cooking.
